About Sakura Beads

A volunteer-run beading community in Swansea, Wales, and a free online designer for beaders everywhere.

Who we are

Sakura Beads is run by a beader who once kept a small bead shop in Kyiv and now volunteers in Swansea, teaching beadwork to adults with disabilities. The name comes from the cherry blossom — a reminder that small, delicate things are worth taking time over.

What we do

  • Free, inclusive beading sessions in Swansea.
  • Tutorials and honest materials advice on this blog.
  • A shared bead scheme designer that anyone can use, free, to chart and co-design patterns.

What is coming

We plan to open a small online shop for beads, kits and printed patterns, shipping across the UK. Until then, our materials guides tell you exactly what to buy and where.
