Accessibility statement

We want everyone to be able to use this website and the bead designer, whatever technology or abilities they have.

What we have done

Large, high-contrast text and generous touch targets throughout.
Every page and the designer can be used with a keyboard alone. In the designer, arrow keys move between beads, Enter paints, Delete erases, plus and minus zoom.
The designer announces your position and actions to screen readers, and offers a high-contrast grid mode.
Animations are disabled when your device asks for reduced motion.
Images carry descriptive alternative text.
Printable charts use large row numbers and a plain-language row-by-row list.

Known limitations

Drawing a chart is inherently visual; the keyboard mode and the row-by-row list make it workable with a screen reader but not effortless. We would genuinely like to hear how it could be better.
